PlainStory EXTRA: "The Standing Bear Cantata"

The Standing Bear Cantata is composed by Jerod Impichchaachaaha' Tate and tells the epic story of the Ponca Chief Standing Bear and his journey as he tries to honor the request of his late son. The Cantata is a work of eight tableaus and we feature an interview Genevieve had with Jerod about the meaning behind the composition. The Cantata performance is from the Lincoln Crossroads Music Festival in August of 2019 and is performed by Grant Youngblood accompanied by chamber ensemble and pianist Hal France.
